OK, I know I asked this in a post already, but for the life of me, I can't find it. So, sorry to bring it up again, and if any of you helpful simmers have already answered, just point me to the right place.
Here's my question...I had read a ton of BBS threads that talked about resurrecting sims from various graves in the game, and continuing legacies from them. I thought zombies couldn't reproduce? They clearly mentioned that the resurrected sim got pregnant, etc, so how is this possible? I thought the only way to resurrect was to make a zombie. Is there another way? Has anyone else read this, too? I'm going to try & find one of those posts to link here, but this is something I saw awhile back & has been bugging me ever since.

I remember this somewhere too Jilly and I answered you, but now I will again. If you pay the reaper a high price when you ressurect a sim, they will come back just like they were when they were alive. There's like three conditions of post-ressurected sims, I believe. I can't remember the exact amounts you pay, but if the price is too low, they will be a zombie. If the price is higher, but not high enough, they will come back with their personality reversed, I think. But if you pay somewhere around 10,000 simoleans or so, they will be the same as before. Hopefully someone else can fill you in on the exact details..

Some cut & pasted quotes from the bbs:
"I'm not sure where to count the resurrected Tricous. Jennail and Kvornan have a second child. Their son Fricorith is a proud dad of two - one at University and the other is a cute child. Gvaudoin went to University in spite of her parents not getting played. There she met and fell deeply for Malcolm Landgraab VI - now they have one son. The other Tricous Jon Smith, Jennicor, Nylissit and Kiernan moved into a house which was never played."
"I sent all 6 Tricou teens to Uni, then moved them all Downtown and resurrected the entire Tricou family. Jon Smith and Jennicor are vampires, and Fricorith is a zombie. That whole first night at the House of Leaves was hilarious actually. Jon Smith was resurrected by on of the Tricou teens, then by the grace of motherlode moved into the House of Leaves and resurrected Jennicor. They found a Grand Vampire and invited him back to the house where they both became vampires. I forgot to send the Grand Vampire home and forgot that after the first bite they can autonomously bite others, so as I started resurrecting the rest of the family, he started biting them! And of course, they all developed fears of other family members becoming vampires or zombies, so by the time I got to Fricorith (I resurrected him last), half of the family were vampires and most of them were in the red. Fricorith becoming a zombie sent a couple of them into aspirational failure! But now, Jon Smith and Jennicor are the only vampires, and Fricorith is the only zombie."

Well now you've lost me! What do mean by not being sure where to count them?

I'm not sure what that means, it was part of the thread about legacies. I just noticed she said that she got 2 of the resurrected ancestors to have another kid. That's what caught my eye. I just didn't want to cut out the part about them being resurrected.

Ah yea... the tricous are pretty easy to resurrect because most of those townie nightlife teens are kin to them. Making one of them playable having them resurrect Jon or whatever his name is will lead to getting them all back.. Anyway, I've never read the thread about the legacy, so I'm clueless on that bit. All I know for sure is it costs big bucks to bring a sim back from the dead as normal...

HA! Motherlode says that is NOT a problem! I'm just glad to know I can get a zombie pregnant! After this story, I'm sure gonna try! I've always wanted to bring back one of those old founders - it seems like that's what they keep the tombstones around for, ya know?

Well Jilly, it's not exactly a zombie at that point; just a regular sim you brought back from the dead! Oh and even though this is along different line, I want to post it here so you will see it: I saw you post in another thread about killing off a ton of parents so you could adopt the children for your story. Well you don't actually have to kill anyone. If you download Inge's teleporter shrub, you can put kids up for adoption with it. You can move kids (or anyone else) into your family with it, and a summon anyone in the game you'd like to be at your house. It's a real nifty tool that I use all the time.

I use boolProp to move everyone from house to house like that, but to make them officially family, so they will trace as family in their geneology, they have to go through the official adoption process. I've moved those kids to so many houses for this story, I can't even count! Especally the teen friends. They're currently all together at my simself's house with sim me! Anyway, I wanted them to be a real family, in case Jo talked me into doing a legacy. If I do, it will come from the Shoe. (I'm leaning towards Marsha, but I'll probably put it up for a vote if I decide to do it!)
I did get an answer from the person who did the Tricou legacy. I'll post it here, since she was kind enough to set me straight. (as were you!)

Thursday, 13 November 2008 Resurrected Sims
Hi! I resurrected the Tricous with the Resurrect-O-Nomitron, the Paranormal Career Reward that came with Uni, and as long as you pay full price for the resurrection, your sims will return as they were before they died. I'm not sure exactly what the amounts are, but depending on how much you pay the Grim Reaper, your sim will either not be resurrected, be resurrected as a zombie, be resurrected as a normal sim but with an inverted personality, or be resurrected as they were before death. I paid the full amount for all of the Tricous except the teen boy, which I paid 5,000 for, and he came back a zombie. I haven't tried the other methods, but I believe the genie lamp with FT always has a small chance of resurrecting a zombie, and evil witches from AL will always resurrect as zombies. Hope this helps! ~ beautyjunkie122

Glad you found your answers Jilly! Here's some more...lol With Inge's shrub, if a family puts a kid up for adoption, it will go into the adoption pool. Then another family can call the adoption agency and adopt the kid and the social worker will bring it to the house as usual so they do end up being real family. I guess I didn't make myself clear the first time. LOL Anyway, it would keep you from having to kill off other parents... unless, of course you like killing them off!

Oh! Well that's a nifty hack! I guess I owe the dead residents of Moon Island a big fat apology! *sorry, wormbait!* In case a legacy sprouts from this, and I'm not saying it will, (Jo!) where might I find this magical shrub?

There's a link posted to it in the links forum. It's a simlogical.com. I use quite a few of Inge's nifty hacks too.

Thanks and I exalt you for saying so! Funny thing is, I must have them all in there pretty well because I never have a bit of trouble with my game. *knock on wood*
