Yea, they're a bunch of jerks...lol. Everyone wants to 'pass the buck'. Jill, whenever you're ready to take the plunge and reformat to get your computer straight, I will happy walk you through the steps of getting an exe. that won't muck up your computer with sucUrom. I have free long distance so it could even be done on the phone if necessary. Hubby is always on the phone to folks from out of state either giving or getting computer tech advice.

I don't think I will ever get M&G unless maybe someone at MATY does a patch or something to fix all those problems up. I already have suckyRom. Was one of those with the emulation software problems from the FT patch, so I had to take it off by uninstaling and reinstaling. I took Roxey off which was what caused the emmulation software problem to start with. Shouldn't have to do that to make a game play, but I wanted AL more then Roxy.

I totally REFUSE to have a program on my computer that tells me what other programs I'm allowed to have as well. That's what sucUrom does. It just is NOT right at all. It thinks that just because you have burning software installed you are going to try to copy the precious game to sell or give away free to others. I mean, come on! It's totally ridiculous. The only people they are hurting by doing that is the ones who actually BUY these games! The pirates usually have it cracked as soon as it is released. *sigh*

Here's the best part - most of those simmers on the bbs that were getting the emulation error actually had NO emulation software on their pc's. I guess that was what made the suckyrom folks come up with a fix.
It was time for me to make a new back up anyway, so maybe once I do that, I'll give it a shot & see what happens. I really wanted to try the new roofs - this is a major bummer!

I know Jilly. I have the stupid thing sitting here uninstalled as well. I am hoping for some sort of patch to come out soon before I try installing it on my computer. I am curious about Crissy losing the 'give gift' interaction on hers though. I don't know if it's a game glitch or if it was due to a screwy installations or what because of not seeing anyone else complain about that same problem.

I will never understand why EA doesn't test everything out with ALL the other games installed to find out what it breaks from those before releasing the games to the public.

Well it depends what you call emulation softeware. While Roxey which came already installed on our pc might not be considered to be emmulation software by many it still is in a sense is emmulation softeware. Legal- doesn't matter. Used to copy your kids photos- doesn't matter. Not a pirate- doesn't matter.
What fix? The only fix I had was by a bbs simmer who told me to uninstal and reinstall to remove the patch. The sucyRom people came up with an actual fix?

Hey nearly forgot I actually got good news about my game. After instaling Celebration Stuff my pop up asking "Who would you like to grow up" with the birthday person is back!! That disapeared after putting AL on! Your son brought Marsha home for the first time on his birthday and I was like what you brought HER home! Then up came that lovely little grow up pop up that I hadn't seen for ages. I like teenafied Marsha, last time I saw her was on Creation To Future chapters. I started writing that chapter up too.

Yay!!! I had my phone privledges back until AL. Now they're gone again.
The patch from Suckyrom is only for M&G.

What exactly is your phone doing again Jilly? I swear it sounds to me like some sort of hack interference somewhere. Have you tried removing your entire downloads folder and saving it to desk top and checked to see if it does it without any CC installed? It's what I would do first. Then if the phones are back to normal, it will tell that it's something you have in your downloads folder.

Jilly, you'll NEVER get your phones fixed if you answer someone and actually try to figure out what the heck is wrong.

Hey y'all, since I'm having all those problems/issues with apartments in AL and my game folder is all backed up and safe on my desktop I decided to bite the bullet and install M&G stuff on my computer. I did it actually hoping it would fix my crashing problem, but it did not... But in other news:

The gift-giving issue was due to Crissy's oversight of not having a gift to give...lol. I have that option just fine as long as the sim has somethink in inventory to give away...lol. There is an issue with the sim's portrait changing constantly, but I fixed that with a modded exe. that someone posted. I only played for a few minutes, but it didn't explode my game and that is the main thing. AL is the one that made my game go 'BOOM'...lol
