To cheat or not to cheat?

That is the question! Hehe... Okay first, do you use cheats during regular game play? Of course we have to cheat to set up screenshots for stories, etc. but that doesn't really count..lol

When you are playing a family, do you make them struggle to climb the latter of success, or do you immediately motherlode them into a nice house with nice things?

I sometimes like to make, or to take a large family and make them earn things the hard way. It can make the game so much more challenging when starting out. The first time I did this was with that large family in the bin in Veronaville, and then later I did it with the Ottomas family. It was really tough at first, but I finally got them out of hole and it turned out just fine for them! ;D

So, what are the cheats you like to use most and do you use them all the time, or do like to mix things up a bit?

Oh jeez, I guess it just depends on my mood... haha. If I'm tired and I want to play mindlessly, I'll use maxmotives every now and then just so I can enjoy the game. The pattern you have to out your sims into can be so monotonous!

Other than that, I ALWAYS play without plumbbobs. They annoy me for some reason. I used to always play with them, but now I automatically turn them off. The game looks so much prettier without them!

And of course, familyfunds -family name- X amount of dollars. That's only if I'm in a bind I try not to use money cheats so often... I always feel bad... ;D

I am a very strange cheater.
I have the Insiminator. I just love it, wouldn't play without it.
I turn off relationship decay on all lots. The only aspect of the game I hate is keeping friends. I don't cheat making them, but once your a friend your ALWAYS a friend in my game.
I turn off lot jealousy when I go on dates
I use the Insiminator to hurry through college. Once they reach an A grade I spawn the education adjuster and make there final exam sooner.
Anyways it's a neat hack.

With money cheats i only give them enough to move into a house and MINIMALLY furnish it. After that they have to earn everything else the hard way.

I have just discovered the boolprop controlpets on/off cheat. It makes pet ownership A LOT easier and fun.

I hardly ever use cheats because I am always playing a challenge!
The spares from my legacy get motherloded a few of times to set them up with a nice house and then that's it.

Some of my favorite sims to play are self sufficiant ones, no house, no job, nothing

I've never actualy used maxmotives I didn't even know about cheats until I had been playing so long I didn't need them, and by then I started playing challenges nearly all of the time.

Just adding I wouldn't mind a quick way to get through Uni because its soo boring! Bu I don't use Boolprop and I;m a bit scared of that inseminator thing too. Technicly challenged ya know. Hey at least I figured how to extract and clone Angel! I was so proud of that! ;D

The Insiminator really isn't anything to be scared of. They even have it updated for Apartments. it goes in your downloads folder CLEARLY labeled and you can take it out anytime.

I do not use 'the kitten killer'..lol It's what the insimenator is called at Matey. I think it conflicts with too many of my other adored hacks that I can't part with!

Jo, if you go to Simbology.com and grab TwoJeff's college adjuster, it works wonders! It will help Uni go by faster! I use it all it all time when uni gets boring for me. It's an object in the game that looks like a stack of phonebooks. Just click on it for options. It also helps with some things outside of college. If you get it, you'll see. I've used it for years with not problems at all as long as you get the one for your latest ep.

TwoJeff's college adjuster...sounds tempting. Maybe I should try that, but not while I play the legacy though *sigh* can't cheat through Uni with the heir. I might see if I can skip it altogether though. Wouldn't hurt to download it though.

I admit I am a cheater. And not only in the sims games. In almost all my games.
I overuse boolprop lately, and I often use motherlode because I can't wait to have a nice looking place. I don't consider Aging off as a cheat though.... sometimes I use it

Not me...It would be so boring...Like watching a soap that in a whole month never leaves the same day...

Jo, you'll never know how you lived without the college adjuster once you get it! It's a nifty little tool and perfectly safe. When you're not playing a challenge in which no cheats are allowed, you can change aspirations, personality points, skill levels, etc with it also. I have to admit that whenever I make a new adult sim, I always randomize their skill points because whoever heard a fully-grown person having absolutely NO skills of any kind? lol

Aww Jo... Do y'all have Halloween over there? If so, tell him it's only my costume for halloween. I plan to change it the day after! I'm really not scary at all.
