Hers was more like a funny test of some sort... There's games in the game room that deal with making new words by changing one letter, a three word story which is getting pretty funny, word association, etc. Games where we actually interact with one another. They're pretty fun!

OK, so I was at Target today, and they had just one lone green Sims 3 case sitting there in the new releases. I thought it was a pre-order, like Best Buy has, but it's not. It cost $ .99, and there's a preview, scrensavers, etc.(all of which you can see for free on the Sims 3 site), an exclusive Target "Pattern" download, and a $5 coupon for when the game comes out. For the download, they show a chair and a lady in a dress, (both different patterns) so I'm not sure what the "Pattern" download means. I bought it. I don't know why I did it, but I did. I get home, and before I can whip it out of the bag & break into it, DH tells me he got me a present at Target today. Now, I can't open it, just in case it's what he bought me. I'll probably give it to my neices, who I got into the Sims 2. I know it was silly to buy, when you can get everything for free on the net. I just couldn't help myself! I guess it's better that I just spent a buck, rather than doing the Best Buy pre-order for $10, to get the $70 version. What is this strange hold EA has on me???

It sure is $70.00 Mae! I don't know if it's just for the collector's edition or not, but the stuff you get with the collector's edition isn't anything to write home about. It's not worth it to me. Jilly girl... you crazy!

I think the $70 version is a "deluxe" version. You get a flash drive with it that's shaped like a plumb bob. (That's about $15 - $20 value right there) Best Buy's per-order gives you a muscle car; maybe a Nova or Chevelle? I can't remember what else was in there - I'll have to go back & look. I'm sure I'll be there Christmas shopping today. Im guessing the regular version will be $40 - $50, like most pc games now. I won't be able to play it on my laptop, but dh built a gaming pc that can handle it & has given me the green light for taking it over. I don't think I'll be buying it right away. Let them get all the bugs worked out. (EA + $$$ = bugs!)
If I would've been thinking, I could have checked out my $1 Target find on my vacation time yesterday while dh was at work! Waaa! I'm off next Friday, too. Someone remind me!

Yeah, I'm waiting to see reactions once people can actually play it. I hear everyone in the neighborhood ages at the same time_don't want.

I sort of feel that way about the aging thing too, Jo, but then again I don't. I think it depends on how they handle it. Most likely there will, or at least should, be some options to turn that on/off or set it up the way you want it to work somehow. I remember when I first got The Sims 2 and I was really excited about the kids being able to grow up. I was playing around in the Goth's lot and saw that Alexander and Brittany Parker were good friends already and I thought, "Oh cool! How sweet? Alex and his childhood friend can grow up, become sweethearts, and get married or something." ;D Then I realized there was no way to grow townie children up. LOL Needless to say, that burst my proverbial bubble! Whenever I seriously play my game, I like to rotate between lots and try to keep the hood in sync. It's not so bad when there's only a few families, but as the hood grows, it takes longer and longer to do that and it sort of gets a bit monotonous at times. Those are the times when I wish I could just grow certain families up to be in sync with the rest...lol. So... if they do it in such a way where the player has an actual choice of whether they want to grow up the neighbors, it may actually be pretty darned cool! Having the townies grow with the playables is actually an awesome idea because it makes more sense that way.

You can grow townie children up with FreeTime. I grew up a few of the children. Only Marsha turned out nice looking.

Oh I know you can now, but you couldn't back then...lol. Heck I've been growing townie children up for quite sometime now since I discoverd Inge's teleporter shrub anyway. That way I can pick and choose who I want to grow up. With that Freetime option, you don't always get to pick someone to grow up with. I don't get it. I grew up a couple of twins and one kid didn't get the popup. The other kid did, but it was a townie kid he had never met. I really don't understand how that stupid system works. Oh yea, Marsha's a very pretty girl. I moved her in with the Oldies with Inge's shrub a long time ago and them adopt her. She's in college now in one of my hoods.

Everyone aging at the same time in the neighborhood for me is a blessing (lazy you know). But I think you'll probably be able to turn that on and off like the show neighborhood thingy thing. (Oh, just read the top Tina already said that...)
I still can't grow townie children up...well with a little cheat here and there I could but you get the idea.
