Birthmarks?

Hi guys; just wondered if you could help me.

I'm looking for birthmarks; preferably as make-up or an accessory or something rather than as a full skintone, and if it worked on babies/toddlers/children that would be marvellous Most of the ones I've found have been skintones, and even when I found some make-up ones they were either far too red or a sort of muddy brown, and not very realistic at all. The poor sims looked more like they'd been splashed with mud Can anyone help?

What kind of birthmark? Do you mean like one of those largish type ones? Maybe GOS or Wiki?

Is GOS short for Garden of Shadows? I haven't tried there, but I'll have a look. The ones on Wiki are the ones I was talking about in my first post; I'd had a look but they're not really what I'm after.

There seems to be some confusion between birthmarks and beauty spots on a lot of sites I've looked at; I mean the red, blotchy-looking marks, not the mole-like things. I want it for one of my future characters in my story, so I'd really like to find one. But if I can't find a birthmark, a scar or something similar might work. I was also toying with the idea of heterochromia (different eye colours), but I didn't know if that would work on toddlers and children.

I notice with a lot of places putting in 'birthmark' yields hits for beauty spots. I thought you meant what’s known as a port wine stain. So far I have only seen one that looks like red paint.

Maybe do a request post on BP? Or pm and ask karima here. A decent birthmark is certainly needed. I noticed you did a post on the BP download help board. I would move that to the 'lost and found thread'

Yeah, the port-wine stains are the ones I'm looking for, but the ones I've found so far just don't look as realistic as I'd like. I was quite surprised that they're so hard to come by and yet beauty spots and freckles can be found pretty much anywhere

What do you mean by request it; do I have to PM someone? I can't believe there isn't something like this either, especially when there are freckles and beauty spots. Surely I'm not the first person to have needed birthmarks?

No, I remember someone else asking for a port wine stain a few months ago. Like request somebody make it. There is the request board at BP www.forums.boolprop.com/viewforum.php?f=114 it’s kind of hidden lol, but I found it by typing in request in the search over there. Or as I said before you could PM Karima here and she might make it for you, I know she has made makeup.

Yeah, people on LJ are STILL confused between birthmarks, beauty spots and freckles I don't know if it's just a British thing, but I think it's pretty clear which ones are which. I may have to post a picture of what I'm looking for.

Yeah I don't get it, I thought everyone knew that a birth mark was either a flat or raised portion of skin, sometimes coloured red. A beauty spot can be called a birthmark, but a freckle comes from sun exposure.
Maybe American's call it something else?
