Now I've done my lower back. I'm sitting her hunched over with a heat pack. Anyone got any good natural helps? I've been online and bookmarked some streching excersizes, although right now I can barely walk.

Owww. Heat is my go-to home remedy. For over-the-counter meds, I use Alieve. Hope you find something that works! {hugs}

We were going out, but now of course my poor family had to all stay home and look after invalid mother. >sigh< My daughters been crying - for not getting to go out, not me. So I got up and said I'll be fine and promptly got a pain bad enough to make me go down on the floor. So now they are staying home. It's bearable so long as they keep a chain gang on the heat packs. Going to bed was worse, so computer chair it is, except it's starting to feel like a rock.

I'm sorry Jo, that sounds terrible! Sending hugs your way and I hope you feel better. All I can think of for help is: RELAX!

;D Poor you, my hot water bottle (yes they still sell those!) gets a good work out when that happens, I do have heat packs,wheat & the gel type but the hot water is the best as it also acts as a cushion for my back that is too saw to touch! ~ Us poor old dears have to look after ourselves,one of my secrets is stretch like a cat every day of your life,but Jo please wait until your back has healed before you do it! ~ I am not joking about the stretching,I have been told that for my age I am very flexible,I put it down to just about living in the water & dancing,the second one I can't do anymore! So was asked what I do different,well on waking I stretch,it is not an exercise it is just stretching every part of your body,doing it as your are still lying down is the best time, & I do do it during the day,but only when no one notices,though I have only had one comment on this, & I have done it most of my adult life! ~ I was stretching my legs,& my flatmate walked in,he thought I was being sexy at showing of my legs!Get over it! I was just stretching!lol! ~ Jo the main thing is to relax & let others do for you, the sooner you do that, the sooner you will be back on your feet! ~ So take it easy!

Oh dear Jo, that does sound painful! My parents always use heat packs and alternate them with hot water bottles, whether that makes any difference I don't know though. I hope it gets better soon, that sounds like some pain you're in. *hugs*

Thanks Amylu. So long as it's heat. I'm off to take some more Nurfin and hobel off to bed. That Voltarin I took at lunch time was good, but I don't wan't the stronger ones every time. Karima I nearly missed your post! Sorry my head is a fog. I went online today to find some stretches to help with this kind of thing, but at the moment the stretch to get up and go to the bathroom is the only stretching! Don't worry they are doing, my poor hubby said it was like being on the chain gang of heat packs. Mine are the wheat kind, wouldn't be without them. I'm also tkaing some magnesium that you put a few drops in water that we had from the Nautropath some time ago. I read magnisium is suppose to help too. I have a lot of muscle troubles, but how I managed to do this one beats me as I wasn't doing much of anything but twist.

My heating pad is electric - I never heard of a wheat one. I do have a small one filled with herbs that I heat in the microwave for my migraines & put over my eyes - is that like what you're using on your back?

Yes they are material filled with wheat and you zap them in the micro. I have a large square one made of corduroy and a smaller slimmer rectangle one for my neck. Wow an electric pad sounds great, particularly at night. I got up at 2am and zapped mine again and I was exhausted!

Thanks Sarie. A sock of rice would make an effective heat pack.

Thanks Sarie. Lol did I? I wouldn't know as it says 2.11 by my time zone. I'm pottering around today, taking it easy, playing sims. Missed out on the shopping expedition we had planned before DD dentil appt, but I'm not up to that and the thought of sitting around my inlaws house all day wasn't really appealing either lol, so dh has taken the kids by himself. So quiet house is quiet.

That sounds nice! Would you like me to send you an electric heating pad? I can do that if you want.
