Are you only considered an adult in America when you reach 21? Or is that just for drinking? Seems weird to me.

Good for you, Crissy! Smart girl. Kamakazies were largely responsible for my first marriage when I was 21! (I wasn't drinking at all for the second one - the key must be in the middle somewhere...)

LMAO@Jill! Jo, at 18, you are considered an adult here, but the drinking age has been raised to 21 in most, if not all, states in America. I guess it's that way because they feel a person is more mature at 21 than 18, and is able to make more responsible decisions as far as alcohol use is concened. I was living in West Virginia when I turned 18 and was legally able to drink, so... unlike my very intelligent daughters, I went bar hopping! When I was 19, I went to live in California for a couple of years. There, the drinking age was 21, so I had to do it all over again on my 21st birthday!
