Back from the Dr, wasn't sure where to post but this thread seems like an ok spot. Now I can't even remember what I told you or not from before. Dang I'm a walking zombie. The Dr was fine with me coming off the Dilantin, so even though I had only just gone back on it I still have to come of a bit gradually, so 5 nights of taking one tablet then I come off altogether so wish me luck, thoughts, prayers whatever you have that I will be turn free. If I do have a turn I will be trying the Epilim(different drug I used to take) They really have no idea why I would be free of this for eight years then suddenly throw a turn again. I'm thinking it was lack of sleep, although we had plenty of nights lack of sleep during all those 3am feeds. So who knows.

Thanks, Jo, for the update! Well I'm glad to hear you are going to be able to try to get off that nasty drug. I sure hope it works out well for you. You know, I have learned over the past few years that there's a lot of things doctors don't know.

Ha! Tell me but it!! My disalutionment with Dr's started when I was about 12. How would you like to have a vitamin deficiany due to medication and be told you need a shrink. Or be given a dose large enough to give you a toxic liver. Oh yes I have sooo much time for Dr_not My Dr is a nice guy though

Oh man Jo, that would be terrible! Doctors.... hmmppphhhttt! Yea, my sinus doctor is a nice guy too. It's just too bad that after three surgeries, my sinus is still messed up. My eye doctor is sort of stuck up acting or something, but his young trainee is really nice. Although I rant a lot...lol... I always try to look at the bright side. As much better as things could be for me, I know there are people out there who have it worse than me. So... I try to count my blessings and be grateful that things aren't worse...

OMG Jo, thanks for the laugh! I really needed that... ;D Young... yes... not so much in the looks department though... hehe My main drug is Prednisone. It's the one that I have to keep raising the dosage of every time I try to wean off it. But they do also have me on Methotrexate, which is sort of a chemotherapy-type drug. I have to have lab work done once a month to monitor my liver function and I was afraid my hair would start falling out when I got on it, but... it held firm so at least I'm not bald! But I don't even think that it's doing much because of the fact I can't get off the steroids. *sigh* The Methotrexate is suppose to take the place of the prednisone for a while, but after nearly a near, it isn't working... I've been on the Prednisone for a total of three years. My ailment is an eye issue that I believe occurred from a crushed tear duct during a sinus surgery, but no one knows for sure because its a rare condition. I have an orbital psuedotumor. And it gets SO painful at times that I feel like I could pluck my own eyeball with a spoon and it would feel so much better. No one knows exactly what causes it, I don't think. Even doing a google search doesn't offer a whole lot of information...

Oh that sounds crook. Yeah lossing hair is one side effect of the Epilim, I have so much and such thick hair that it hardly made a dent in mine So can they go in and fix the tear duct. Heck they did it, they should try and fix it. I would be hopping mad.

Oh it's fixed. The surgeon put a little tube through it to keep it open while it healed, but the tube went through the tear duct and hung down inside my nostril and I think it allowed some of the infection from my sinus to make its way up into the orbit around my eye, which caused the tumor to build around it in an attempt to kill it or something... I don't know for sure, but when we told our suspicions to the doctors, they were unable to deny it because they just don't know for sure either...

Wow, way to rant about doctors!
I have no idea what you guys said, but it sounds pretty painful!
And, I caught a typo on Tina! WHOO! I've waited for this day so long! In the second post, you put "nearly a near"!! Gosh, finally! Now time to go on with my list of things to do!
