We're holding a mostly anon secret santa at SWG, if you'd like to participate sign up here. There are many different gift ideas you can use such as recolours, awesome download finds, a story and much more.

That's cool. A few years back, the hubby and I got involved in a secret Santa deal on another forum. We drew names, etc. Most everyone did pretty well, including me. We bought our gifts and send them out, etc. Turns out the woman who drew the hubby's name was a bum and never sent him anything! My poor honey.... it's terrible to get 'ripped off' at Christmas!

It sucked for him, and I was sad for him, but I also found slightly amusing at the same time. I don't know if I'll sign up for the secret Santa thing, but I do need to get over to SWG sometime and browse around. I've been pretty much neglecting all forums lately, except this one. I haven't even been over there to update my story thread, but no one will probably notice if I do anyway.

I thought it about a couple of weeks ago, (before I was told SWG is doing one...lol), but only briefly. I decided that I'm too lazy to organize it, so it will have to wait until another year... maybe. I was on a Savage Garden board a few years back, which was filled LOTS of ladies, just like it is here...lol, and we did a 'Candy from Around the World' thing at Christmas. It was pretty awesome and turned out VERY well. We all bought some candy that was sort of 'native' to our areas and then packed it up and mailed it to each other. It was SO cool to see what sorts of wrappers that candy we have here came in from different places and the kinds of candy they had there. There were a few us from the states, there was one from New Zealand, one from England, and one from Sweden or Switzerland. Mmmm, I actually got my lips wrapped some authentic Swiss choclolate! It was very cool! I wouldn't mind doing that again someday.

That would be really cool! I like the SWG idea too, where it's no cost stuff - a download or story, etc. How would you "draw names"?

Sawyer, it's not like SWG INVENTED the secret Santa tradition! Nor have they cornered the market on it either. I really don't know, Jill. The one we did that year, people signed up for it, and then the admins handled the rest. Maybe one member draws two names out of a hat and then matches them up with each other, and then telling those two people who they got, etc. But I don't think that's how they did it, because then person A would be giving to person B and person B would be giving to person A. That is SO not how it works! Maybe you assign numbers to everyone and then let people pic numbers or something. See? I'm too lazy to figure all that crap out.

Yeah, I guess an admin would have to dole out the numbers - assigning each participant a number, then having everyone choose a number. Then the admin would have to tell them who their number belongs to. I can't think of another way.

I'm sure one of us could do it. We'd have to get some rules together, decide on exactly what would be exchanged, etc.

Like I said before, I'm too lazy, as well as sort of tired and brain-dead lately to do it, but if you'd like to organize it and set it up, Jill, go for it! I'll do my best to help where needed, and I'll participate if it comes to fruition, but I just don't have it in me to be 'the brains' of the outfit.

I'm short on time myself, but if SAWYER wants to get the rules ironed out, I'll be glad to be in charge of the names/number draw. (C'mon, Cole, you had to know this was coming!Lol!)
My only worry about the one at SWG is that I can't make recolors and such. I could make a sim or write a story - heck, I'd even enjoy doing that, but that's about all I have to offer. And is it for Sims 2 only? (I have both)
