Print screen baffles Jillyson. I press the button, but where do they go? Lol! Jillyson is writing another story for another teen. She read the one I wrote for the lady at work, and wants one, too. Jilly wishes she had more time to write!

Jo would also love to know where they go! The only print screen to be found was found by hubbies apprentice who did some hocus pocus on my computer and it appeared on my desktop. magic I tell you!

Jo, did he just paste it into a program or did he actually retrieve it? If he retrieved it, was it on XP? On Vista the function to retrieve clipboard objects (which would include printscreens among other things) was removed. However, you can download programs that capture printscreens and automatically save them to a folder of your choosing. I use Gadwin Printscreen (the free version).

I think it was on my XP computer. It was the Boolprop cake decorating activity they had last year. The only way to get a photo was Print screen but I have no idea how to use them, so I asked the kid and he somehow got it on my desktop. I have no idea how he did that! I think he may have changed the file extension.

Jo, to use print screen... Press PrtSc button when you have the view on your screen that you want to have the capture show. Go into a paint or drawing program and either choose edit, paste in the main menu. Then you can either edit it if you want and save. Be aware though, that you can only have 1 screen saved in this clipboard (copied there when you click PrtSc) at a time so for every time you press PrtSc you have to do the above in order to save the screen capture. Very annoying when doing so dozens of times in succession. Which is one reason why I use a separate program that saves them to a folder by default.

But where do I find it, this clipboard? See I don't even know where that is. I think (haha)I could find paint. I downloaded Picasa a few days back. I would like to start learning a few basics, such as being able to use a print screen for certain challenges to show that 'John Blogs' really did max his skills etc. And to put three toddler skills across a page for the WYDC. Simple stuff like that. I'm seriously clueless. I think the last time I used paint was on a dinosaur Amstrad computer about 12 years ago!

You don't need to know where the clipboard is. Just press the print screen button, go to paint, right click and choose "paste" and the picture should show up.

Sorry if I caused confusion over what I said about the clipboard, it's kinda on my mind right now along with too much other stuff. If you need help with setting up pictures, I'm sure there are people who would be willing to help you out, myself included. Even if you cannot find paint, there are people who will help you with that too.

I just want to know where to find paint. I can't see it under programs. Edit- I found it! Under accessories. But I don't know how to paste....it's a pencil. Edit again-I did it! I found paste up under Edit. Well that's a start at least.

Sorry Sue, I did find it and I found the paste too. I modified my post above. Now I do know Ctrl V, but I didn't even think about it.

Yes, I saw that after you edited, and so I edited, and then you edited again.
I'm glad you found it.
I never used Edit, Paste...Ever. I always use CTRL+V. It's easier to remember when you do that kind of stuff all the time.
