Well last night after I went to bed I had what I thought was a very itchy couple of bites on my foot, put some anti itch cream on and went to sleep. Woke up at about 1.30 and both feet were kind of ringed in these itchy burny 'bites' Like flea bites. Put more cream on, go back to bed, get rather hot then a few areas on my head and face start to itch. Getting worried I took a telfast tablet. It says Hayfever, itches, hives etc. Slowly improves and I finally go to sleep.
It still itches slightly this morning. I couldn't imagine what could have caused it. I even took off our special doona as it's filled with this space age stuff. That is probably co-incidence that we put that on the bed first time since last winter. We did eat these pastry things for dinner, kind of filled with a chicken tandoori (sp?) that we good from the butcher. Could that have been it, hours latter?

Probably the thing you ate. I've been getting attacked from mosquitoes for days so my legs are blotchy messes

Oooh, that sounds nasty, Jo.
Have you changed laundry detergents lately, or anything? That may cause that sort of thing too.

Not that lately. I have been using a newish box for about 2 weeks now. But I think I would have had some reaction sooner then that, like from my singlet or something.
They itched like flea bites if you've ever had those. Ugg. Really itchy burny. And the 'bites' looked like large flat oddly shaped mosquito bites on top of some toes and around the side and heel. But I had shoes on all the time yesterday so it can't have been bites. My palms got a little itchy as did my scalp. It sounds like a reaction, but to what? They still itch a little.
I just hope I don't get it again! Luckily there was only one on my face and I'm home today.

It doesn't sound food related. I'd recommend vacuuming the room and bed, also washing the bedding, in case the cause is bugs.

If you had shoes on with socks washed in your sort of new detergent, that could be the culprit. Don't know about the one on your face, though, unless you touched your face shortly after putting on your socks.

yes I should change the sheets. I still don't think they were bites. I've had itchy palms before and the Dr said to take an antihistamine.

I think you should go to the doctor again. Just to be sure...

I agree with Pixx, this could be some kind of disease... Wash the bedding, and see if that helps though. I had fleas or something in my bed a while back and it was miserable, I wanted to scream!

I'm pretty sure it isn't bites as they had no opportunity. If there was a flea in the bed it would not be in each of my bed socks.

Maybe it would be a good idea to see a doctor about this reaction Jo. Take an antihistamine 1/2 hour to 1 hour before bed if you think it's an allergy to minimize reaction.

I said to dh this morning maybe I should see a Dr, he didn't think it was needed. I can hardly see it now, but it still itches a bit. I suppose all he'll do is say take an antihistamine and see someone about allergy testing I guess. I had an allergy test on the back once which was all clear, but that was something like 18 years ago.

Ok, well, if it continues or gets worse I definitely would see a doctor. Maybe you're allergic to the material of the socks...i think you mentioned you were wearing socks.
By the way, allergy tests are only good for about one year. Allergies change frequently. I've had lots of allergy tests, pretty much every year, because they change (get worse and develop new allergies) each time.

Every year, my goodness. Maybe I should try washing without detergent and see if that helps. But then it might just go away anyways. I've had some other socks on all morning and just took those off now (1.33pm) because it feels like the left side of the left foot is somewhat more itchy. I did just eat lunch a bit before. Gads what if I've become sensitive to tomatos or something.

Yep, every year. I'm hoping the allergy injections will help so I have a lot less to deal with in coming years.
Perhaps try that (washing without detergant). Even if you've been using it for a while, you can still develop a sensitivity to it.
It's probably not food allergy, you wouldn't have a reaction like that. Unless you rubed it on your feet - lol.
