lol. I'm looking at laptops online right now for places around here. The only one I can find (which they may not even have in store) is $2500 and it only just meets specs for processor speed. Which is a bit much. Considering I can buy a whole computer that meets all my required specifications and more (but I have absolutely no place to put it) for a quarter of that price.
I don't know if I'd love it or not, I've read some things that I like about it and some that I don't.

Wow, that is quite steep for a laptop that barely meets the minimum requirements! *EEK* I do believe I'd go the desktop route, when you have the space.

My hubby, Harley, wants to know if you've tried Newegg? He says they have a lot of gaming laptops there.

I've never heard of Newegg...anyways if I ever do replace my laptop, it'll have to be at a local store since getting things delivered here is a nightmare.

I did take a look and saw one that really peeked interest. But I'm not going for it.

I did find one here that I think is decent and for a fair price. But I'm concerned about the processor speed, it's only 2.0 even though it is dual core so it'll be fine, but if TS3 adds eps and the processor speed requirements goes up quickly then it won't work for the future. Oh, and I'm also concerned about things running on a Vista 6.4 bit. I've heard bad things about programs not running on it.

Sue, on the Sims3 box it says 2.0 is the min specs for XP ! Vista has a min 2.4, but we do know EA & we all know there next expansions WILL need higher specks, I myself am worried as I have 2.6 duo XP desktop setup!
It is a pity you do not have the room as a desktop would be a lot cheaper,but then there are those that need a laptop because of mobility for school/Uni extra!

Yes, but 2.4 for a single core. If you have a duo core you can shave off around 0.6-0.8 for TS3. You're computer will be safe for a while. It doesn't work that way though for TS2 since it isn't compatible with multiple cores.

The 2.4 was $2500 (plus taxes and fees that's over $3200!) - but it does have a better graphics card...

But, just because I have the money, doesn't mean I should go out and spend it...especially just because of a game.
