Being left alone
And leaving me be
Is not at all what
Loneliness means to me
Feeling completely alone
Can set you apart
It begins in your head
Then settles into your heart
Loneliness is
A state of mind
It is not cruel
It is not kind
The room may be full
Of people who love me;
People I love, and yet the
Loneliness drowns me
Sometimes at night
I hang my head and cry
It becomes hard to breathe
Until it feels as if I may die
Sometimes I wonder
How my heart got so broken
It seems unbearable to live
With such sorrows unspoken
Each passing new day
Brings with it more pain
I trudge aimlessly through
Until it starts all over again

That was anything but a crappy attempt at a poem. It was beautiful...dark...beautifully dark! So very descriptive that I could feel the pain in the words. I loved it!
